As many of you are aware RDAA took the decision to close all waters due to Government guidance on containing the spread of Covid-19. We are monitoring news/updates from the government daily and will post an update on reopening waters when possible. Please note that when our waters do reopen members must be in possession of a valid membership card to fish. The expiry date must be valid.
Mistakenly "Night fishing with night permit" has been removed from the update pages for beats 1 and 3 of Throop sent out with the newsletters. Please note this still applies and will be reinstated with next years update pages.
As you will be aware the club increase any fees deemed necessary on April 1st each year. The committee discussed this at meetings earlier in the year and agreed to increase membership fees as the Treasurer informed us that we were going to make a loss of about £15000 this year. As a committee it is our responsibility to keep the club viable and ensure we can maintain our excellent portfolio of waters. All our waters will be retained this year and we have also added Orchard lakes.
In view of the closure of our waters due to the coronavirus outbreak we have decided to freeze all our prices for members this year. We believe that this is the correct decision to make although some other clubs have increased their fees as they carry this out earlier in the year.
We wish all our members and their families good health and hope we will be able to reopen our waters in the not too distant future.
The committee of Ringwood and District Anglers Association have discussed the effect the closing of our waters will have on our members. As a gesture of goodwill it has been agreed that all memberships being renewed from 1st April 2020 until 31st March 2021 will be for a 13 month period instead of the usual 12 months. The 13 month membership will also be applied to any new member joining before we open our waters, If you are renewing a membership on or after April 1st that was due to be renewed in March the 13 month period will not apply but will apply when you rejoin next March.
We would like to make it clear that all our leases will have to be paid as usual during this time and we will not receive any rebates from our owners.
Hopefully we can all get back to normal in the not too distant future and we wish good health to you and your families during these worrying times.
Please note that all venues are now closed and will be until further notice. This is due to new action implemented by Boris Johnson and our Government to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Due to the recent COVID-19 breakout, Longham Lakes will be completely closed, including walking, access etc until further notice. This is South West Lakes Trust decision and we ask members to respect this at these difficult times.
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT SCHOOL BRIDGE WILL BE CLOSED FROM THIS FRIDAY 6TH MARCH UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON FOR THE ESTATE TO CARRY OUT REPAIRS. ANGLERS WILL BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE FISHERY THROUGH THE GATES AT SCHOOL BRIDGE BUT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CROSS THE BRIDGE TO THE HURN (NORTH) SIDE OF THE RIVER. APOLOGIES FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.
The committee are pleased to announce that our members will be able to fish Orchard Lakes near New Milton from October 1st this year. Fishing will be on all the lakes except Jimmy's lake and will be from October 1st until March 31st. Pages to add to membership book will be sent out with the newsletter in May.
